HI Humpback Whale Sanctuary
The Sanctuary Education Center is beside a restored ancient Hawaiian fishpond, in prime humpback-viewing territory. Whether the whales are here or not, the center is a great stop for youngsters curious to know how things work underwater. Interactive displays and informative naturalists will explain it all. Throughout the year, the center hosts intriguing activities, ranging from moonlight tidal pool explorations to "Two-ton talks." www.hawaiihumpbackwhale.noaa.gov. OPEN: Daily 10-3.
