One small sign along the highway is all that promotes this one-time private garden gone awry. Ed and Joyce Doty's love for plants and art now spans 240 acres, includes 13 different gardens, a hardwood plantation, a canyon, lagoons, Japanese teahouse, a poinciana maze, waterfall, and a sandy beach. Throughout are more than 70 bronze sculptures, reputedly one of the nation's largest collections. Now a nonprofit organization, the latest project is a children's garden with a 16-foot-tall Jack and the Beanstalk bronze sculpture, gecko maze, treehouse, kid-size train and, a tropical jungle. Located in a residential neighborhood and hoping to maintain good neighborly relations, the garden limits tours (guided only). Tour lengths vary from 1 1/2 to 5 hours. Reservations strongly recommended. www.naainakai.org. OPEN: Tues.-Fri., call ahead for hours.
