Roy's

Roy Yamaguchi's flagship restaurant across the highway from Maunalua Bay attracts food-savvy visitors like the North Shore attracts surfers. But it has a strong following among well-heeled Oahuans from surrounding neighborhoods who consider the place an extension of their homes and Roy's team their personal chefs. For this reason, Roy's is always busy and sometimes overly noisy. It's best to visit later in the evening if you're sensitive to pressure to turn the table. The wide-ranging and ever-interesting "Hawaiian fusion" menu changes daily except for such signature dishes as Szechuan Spiced BBQ Baby Back Ribs, Roy's Original Blackened 'Ahi with Soy Mustard Butter Sauce, and a legendary meat loaf. There's an exceptional wine list. Reservations essential.
